Effective Public Speaking - SpeechEasy

In 2004, Steensma Pty Ltd partnered with SpeechEeasy to co-develop the “Self Confidence through Effective Public Speaking course.  The training programs are aimed at improving communication both at an individual and organisational level.

The “Self Confidence through Effective Public Speaking” course is about preparing and delivering a speech or presentation.  It provides participants with the confidence, skills and practical experience to prepare and present information in a formal and informal environment.

The “Self Confidence through Effective Public Speaking” course contains the following modules:

Nerves and how to control them

The Main Aspects of Speaking

Introducing Visitors

Introducing Guest Speakers

Reading Aloud

Practical Public Speaking

Attitude

Who should Attend:  All persons who are required to present information in organisations, at meetings, seminars, workshops, conferences or any daily requirement.

The duration of the course is eight hours in total.  The course can be delivered as a full day seminar or two x four-hour sessions and are conducted at the client’s location.

Participants:  Groups of up to 12 people.
(Min eight – max twelve).

Location:  All courses are conducted at the client’s location, to reduce disruption through time lost in travel and will allow the participants easy access to the workplace if the need arises.

In business meetings are a necessary and integral part of operations.  Unfortunately many meetings are not as effective as they should be.  Most businesses struggle with meeting effectiveness.    They shouldn't be.

Meetings are an opportunity to bring together individuals in an organisation to share information and make decisions that will lead to desired outcomes.   This is a program aimed at improving communication both at an individual and organisational level.

The Self Confidence through Effective Meeting Management course is a one of the most comprehensive courses available in the market today.

The course aims to provide participants with the confidence, skills and practical experience to become more effective and productive communicators who have the ability to manage meetings effectively, have the confidence to convey their ideas, and have those ideas accepted.  Those ideas are essential to build and maintain successful organisations.

Location:  All courses are conducted at the client’s location.  This helps to reduce disruption through time lost in travel and will allow the participants easy access to the workplace if the need arises.

Students receive a 180 page handbook, a CD containing templates of; Meeting Checklist, an Agenda, Open Issues Log, Minutes of the meeting and a Meeting Guide.

Identifying problems with writing.

Back to the basics; verbs and nouns, colons and commas, modifiers, tautology, ambiguity and vocabulary, style, tone level.

The four stages of drafting effective written communication; pre-planning, project managing, drafting the correspondence and post correspondence management.

The roles of the key players in correspondence.

The types of business correspondence. How to layout and draft a; memorandum, letter, written brief, meeting agenda, minutes of a meeting, directive/instruction and invitation.

Dealing with Technology.

Who should attend:  All persons in an organisation who play an active role in drafting written correspondence.

Duration:  Eight hours in total.  The course is delivered as a full day seminar.

Participants:  Groups of up to 12 people (min eight people).

Location:  All courses are conducted at the client’s location.  This helps to reduce disruption through time lost in travel and will allow the participants easy access to the workplace if the need arises.

Students receive a 250 page handbook, a CD containing templates of; Correspondence Checklist, Memorandum, Brief, Directive/Instructions, a meeting Agenda, Minutes of the meeting and Invitations.
