Facts
Cardiovascular disease kills one Australian nearly every 10 minutes, it affects more than 3.7 million Australians and claimed the lives of almost 46,000 Australians (34% of all deaths) in 2006 - deaths that are largely preventable¹.
Diabetes. An estimated 275 Australians develop diabetes every day. The 2005 Australian AusDiab Follow-up Study (Australian Diabetes, Obesity and Lifestyle Study) showed that 1.7 million Australians have diabetes. By 2031 it is estimated that 3.3 million Australians will have type 2 diabetes (Vos et al., 2004). The total financial cost of type 2 diabetes productivity losses were $4.1 billion².
Well being. Good mental health is fundamental to the wellbeing of individuals, their families, and the whole population. Conversely, mental health problems and mental illness are among the greatest causes of disability, diminished quality of life, and reduced productivity. People affected by mental health problems often have high levels of morbidity and mortality, experiencing poorer general health and higher rates of death from a range of causes, including suicide³.

All tested results gained during the course are and will remain medically confidential between the medical facilitator and the student and will not be divulged to the company.
